Call for papers for the theme group "Feminisms and Education" at Annual FERA Conference on Education 2014, Oulu, 20–21st November 2014
This theme group seeks to canvas questions of power, education and pedagogy – broadly defined – in relation to gender and other 'differences that make a difference' (such as ethnicity, place, age, class, sexuality, [dis]ability and religion) on local, national and global levels. The theme group seeks to bring together academics, early career researchers, PhD students, practitioners and policymakers. It welcomes contributions that engage with theoretical, empirical, practice-based or activist approaches that draw from a range of contemporary theories that (re)think the child, childhood and education – including queer and feminist theory, postcolonialism, posthumanism and new materialism.
Depending on the participants our working languages can be both English and Finnish.
